Playback and Transport
WaveLab offers you a wide range of options for playback and transport.
Transport Bar
The Transport Bar allows you to control the playback of an audio file or an audio montage, to navigate to various positions in your audio, and to open the Recording dialog.
Using the Auto Selection Mode
Using the auto selection mode, in combination with the playback shortcuts, for playing back audio ranges or anchors makes it easy to monitor your editing operations.
Using Auto Replay While Editing
You can automatically re-trigger playback while editing audio with the mouse, which is useful to monitor the adjustment of a selection boundary, for example.

Procedure

On the transport bar, right-click the Play from Anchor or Play until Anchor button, and activate Auto Replay While Editing.
In the Audio Editor or in the Audio Montage window, define a selection range, and keep the mouse button pressed.
Start playback by using one of the following shortcuts:
- To play back the selected audio range, press F6.
- To play back from an anchor, press F7.
- To play back up to an anchor, press F8.
Drag the cursor to the right or left.

The selection range is adjusted and played back until you release the mouse button. When playback ends, the new selection range is played back.
