Unmix the selected layer into Mid and Side layers. Mid contains the audio in the center (usually vocals or speech in a song or a movie), and Side contains audio on the sides (usually reverb, sound effects, other instruments, in a song or movie context). This module works non only with stereo recordings, but also with any multichannel recording (such as 5.1 or other channel combinations). It also offer an Expanded mode that provides even more separation than the regular Mid/Side algorithm, using spectral calculation instead of a simple waveform calculation.
- Mode: Standard or Expanded. Standard is a standard Mid/Side separation, as featured in other softwares. Expanded provides even sharper and cleaner separation between Mid and Side, with Mid truely representing the mid content without bleeding from the side (as opposed to the Standard mode), and Side offering a true, wide multichannel representation of the side content, with all spatial informations properly assigned to different channels.
